6th May 2011

We've had our vacuum cleaner for almost ten years now, but after sucking up lots of my hair during that time it is finally starting to lose suction and so this afternoon we went to look at the new Dyson hoover in the shop. Good job we did as it is mini (the adverts say it can fit on a piece of A4 paper) and the drum would probably be full in minutes in our house!

25th March 2011

I had the day off work today and so I went on a little shopping trip to Bromley. I didn't spend much in the end but I was amused by this marker post in the shopping street reminding me that I was a long way from work! :)

7th January 2011

When walking to the station after work this evening I noticed that now its sale is almost finished, Next are advertising the arrival of their spring/summer collection. I popped in the store on my way past to check-out the last remnants of the sale and saw that the new collection includes bikinis, which to my mind on 7th January, when it's cold and wet outside, seems rather optimistic!

15th December 2010

A couple of months ago when I changed jobs I got given some M&S vouchers as a leaving present, however rather unusually it has taken me until now to start spending them. I have just bought this rather fetching leather overnight bag, although sadly the photo doesn't quite do it justice as in reality it is a lovely bright purple colour!

26th November 2010

Today we took the day off work to go Christmas shopping. We went to Bluewater, which was busy but not nearly as painfully busy as I'm sure it will be at the weekend. Clearly I can't reveal here what we purchased but I can disclose that we bought a new cross-cut shredder for added security and also because our current shredder sounds distinctly sick everytime we try to use it!

24th October 2010

Don't get me wrong, I like living in Orpington but this new shop that I spotted in town today just about sums up the classiness of the town centre. The high street these days seems to be full of discount shops, charity shops and rather bizarrely restaurants - I guess maybe if you save your money by shopping in the former you can afford to eat in the latter...

25th July 2010

We took a trip to Bluewater to do some shopping today but as you can see from the bags our spoils were fairly meagre.  Our credit cards can breathe a sigh of relief!

9th July 2010

This evening I went to see the Grace Kelly Style Icon at the V&A with a friend and this was one of her pretty dresses that was on display. In fact it was one of the more fancy of her outfits as the majority of her clothes just seemed to ooze classy simplicity.  Her top tip for selecting clothes was to have a designer send over a few drawings for her to choose from - I can imagine that would sure beat having to battle through the Saturday crowds on Oxford Street.

21st June 2010

Today I am going to Hamburg for work and so I have had to endure the delights of the M25 to get to Heathrow T5. There have however been shopping opportunities to make up for those missed at Westfield last week :)
