Nice surprise today when a parcel arrived from Amazon containing a couple of cookbooks - our friends had ordered them for us after we were eyeing up their copies when we visited them at the weekend.

For Christmas Mr W gave me some posh shampoo and conditioner as recommended by my hairdresser - it's supposed to be good for your hair as it doesn't contain silicon or any other nasties. Unfortunately though I can't confirm or deny its benefits yet as today was the first day that I've used it as I'd been trying to use up my previous shampoo to avoid having too many bottles cluttering up the bathroom and as is always the way when you want something to run out quickly it seemed to take on never-ending properties!

Today we received a Christmas present, re-branded as a New Year present, from some friends. Rather amusingly it was a set of magnets cunningly packaged to look like a giant iPhone!

A couple of months ago when I changed jobs I got given some M&S vouchers as a leaving present, however rather unusually it has taken me until now to start spending them. I have just bought this rather fetching leather overnight bag, although sadly the photo doesn't quite do it justice as in reality it is a lovely bright purple colour!

Today we took the day off work to go Christmas shopping. We went to Bluewater, which was busy but not nearly as painfully busy as I'm sure it will be at the weekend. Clearly I can't reveal here what we purchased but I can disclose that we bought a new cross-cut shredder for added security and also because our current shredder sounds distinctly sick everytime we try to use it!

Very excitingly we went and collected our Christmas present this evening. I've agreed we can test it out at the weekend to make sure it works but then it has to be wrapped up again until 25th December!
