After my rant the other day about charity donation bags, I decided to tackle the huge pile of them in the cupboard under the kitchen sink. As you can see there was a whole bagful of them, next stage is to take them along to the supermarket to stick in the plastic bag recycling bin!

Now, I don't want to sound un-charitable but I do get annoyed by the plastic charity collection bags that are always coming through our front door. I am happy to give my unwanted goods to charity but on my terms and when I want to - I don't want it thrust upon me. Today when I got back from town there were two bags from the same charity on the door mat - I was not impressed, especially as I my cupboard under the sink is bulging with un-used donation bags. Seems like more de-cluttering is necessary!

There was no contest for today's 'photo of the day' - after appearing on the local paper's website last Friday, Mr W and his tube-running exploits have now made it into the print edition. I am so proud of his efforts and hope that he manages to raise lots of money for SANDS.

Each autumn at Brownies we prepare charity Christmas gift boxes for underpriviliged children around the world. This year our boxes are going to local charity Smile International.
Here is my box for an 8 year old boy which includes, amongst other things, pants and socks, toothbrush and toothpaste, soap and flannel, colouring pens and pencils, notebooks, sweets, a mini football and some lego.

We had a very busy evening at Brownies tonight - first off we had a trainee sniffer dog called Rick come to visit. As part of his training he needs to experience lots of different situations and so he did a couple of exercises where he had to find some drugs that had been planted on a couple of the girls. His reward each time was to play with a tennis ball and then when he'd finished working he got some cuddles from the Brownies! Afterwards the girls got busy making Christmas cards for this year's Blue Peter appeal, which involves making cards for Tesco to sell in aid of Whizz-Kidz. Here are some of their efforts...
