15th July 2010

9am on St Swithin's Day and my umbrella was already wet.  Not a good omen for the rest of the summer if the old proverb is to be believed:


St Swithun's day if thou dost rain
For forty days it will remain
St Swithun's day if thou be fair
For forty days 'twill rain no more

    Thank you Mme - I believe it was a gift from Mr W. Personally I find it much more exciting than all those dull black umbrellas you usually see on a rainy day.
