As you might have guessed from my blog earlier this week I'm not a big fan of tasks like filing and de-cluttering, but having not been tidied since we moved into our house three years ago the top drawer of my bedside cabinet was getting to be rather full. So this evening I have emptied it out and thrown away some of the clutter, which rather bizarrely contained several expired bank cards, empty envelopes and a pair of old shoe laces. The tidied drawer may still look quite full, but believe me it's nothing compared to what it was like...

Twelfth night tonight and so we've spent the evening taking down our Christmas decorations. It feels a bit sad that Christmas is over for another year, but it's nice to reclaim some space in our lounge again! Now just got to put the boxes back in the loft...

There was no time to tidy up from Sunday's party yesterday as we were busy geocaching and taking mum to see Mamma Mia for her birthday. Now however everyone has gone home and we have an empty house so there's no excuse for not doing something about all this birthday confetti in our dining room, although I fear that whatever we do we will probably be finding it for many months to come!

My mum is currently putting up some Olympic hopeful sailors - there are only three of them but they do seem to have a lot of shoes (although admittedly in this picture 2 pairs are mine). They are very good at lining them up neatly in the hallway though.
