Postscript

Wow, how time flies when you're having fun! I can't really believe I've got to the end of my 'Year in Photos' - at times it has been challenging, both finding the photos and finding time to write about, but overall I've enjoyed doing it so I will be continuing this 'blogging habit'. I have started a new blog 'After Thomas' and although at the moment I am using it primarily for recording my Juneathon activities, in the future who knows what direction it will take...

7th June 2011

I shall finish as I started with a picture of my birthday cards. As usual I have been a very lucky girl and have received lots of lovely birthday messages and presents and this evening Mr W will be cooking me dinner :)

Thank you to everyone who has been following this blog for the last year - it has been fun thinking of different things to take photos of each day but I won't miss the challenge of finding something interesting on those rather dull days when all you do is go to work and come home again!

6th June 2011

Today I had to go up into town for the first time since Thomas as I had a hospital appointment in North London. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and I also managed to squeeze in my Juneathon exercise at the same time by walking from the hospital in Belsize Park to Camden Town tube station. I've never walked through Camden before and I was amazed by how vibrant it all seemed. I was also surprised to see how tranquil it was around Camden Lock compared with the hustle and bustle on the street.

Fitting it was rather more complicated than we expected, but here is our new heated towel rail that my Dad has kindly installed in our shower room this weekend. Personally I think it looks great together with the freshly painted wall and new flooring! Just got to paint the other two walls and fix the light now...

Having bought all those bedding plants the other day, today was the perfect day to plant them out in my patio containers. Unfortunately though before Mum and I could do that we had to empty out the old soil from some of the pots and in one of those pots we rather bizarrely found some wheat growing!

3rd June 2011

Feeling a little sad this afternoon and a bit cross with myself as stupidly knocked one of my favourite mugs out of the cupboard when trying to get the teapot out earlier. It's one of a pair that our friends gave to us when we got engaged and I feel sentimental that it's broken beyond repair - would be happy to use it handleless but the big chip in the rim is probably a bit dangerous.

2nd June 2011

I'm afraid to say that I can never resist a bargain which is why I now have 72 bedding plants to plant into my patio tubs - they were on special offer buy 3 packs for £12 in the DIY store today and it seemed too good an offer to miss. Good job my parents are coming to stay this weekend so my Mum can give me a hand with planting them all!
